Gross Gummy Candy Manual

The Gummy Candies

After you've made your yummy gummy shapes, you can wrap them in a plastic bag and label it with fun stickers that are included in the kit! Your scientific creation is a great sweet and sour treat for your friends and family! The kit comes with enough ingredients to make one batch of green-apple flavored gummies and one batch of mixed-berry flavored gummies.

The Experiments

Aside from an experiment to guide you in making your gummy candies using carrageenan, a natural ingredient that comes from seaweed, additional experiments explore different chemistry concepts. Can you remove the color from your gummies? What happens when you melt one of your gummy shapes and then freeze it? The experiments in the kit explore the how's and why's in detail.

The Manual

Kids are introduced to scientific terms and processes in the 'Geek Out!' sections of the manual. Things like phases of matter and how to detect acids and bases are described in easy-to-understand language and accompanied by clear illustrations, photographs, and real-life applications to make these concepts more tangible.

This was fun to make with my daughter. She did t like how the berry one tasted but was happy she tried it. Definitely make sure an adult is there when doing this as it does require to use the stove and heat things up.

I bought this for my son for Christmas and he loves it. I was looking for something like this because I had bought other ones for my daughters. I was looking for something more geared towards a boy. So I was extremely excited when I found this.
