Product Description
The Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Smart Stages Tablet gives kids their very own pretend tablet computer with 28 "app" buttons to press and activate fun lights, sounds, phrases and songs! This musical learning toy teaches infants and toddlers about letters, first words, animals and more through fun interactive play. And with Smart Stages technology, you can switch up the learning songs and phrases as your baby grows.
From the manufacturer
Learning content changes as baby grows – with Smart Stages technology!
Every baby develops at their own pace, and Smart Stages technology lets you select the stage that’s best for your child! There are a variety of developmentally appropriate songs, phrases and sounds within three levels of play – just slide the switch!
3 Levels of Development
Level 1 – Explore – 12M+
Hands-on exploration rewards baby with fun sounds, phrases and sing-along songs. Baby can press any of the ABC buttons to hear first words like, “cookie.”
Level 2 – Encourage – 18M+
This level encourages baby to find letters and objects! Music, sounds and voice phrases reward baby for playing. Press buttons to hear prompts like, “Find monkey.”
Level 3 – Pretend – 24M+
Just like a real tablet—but even more fun! Realistic flat-screen tablet encourages imitation and imagination through early role play. “Neighhhh! Can you neigh like a horse?"
Expand the play – there’s an “app” for that on this tablet!
- As baby grows, continue to encourage play and learning. Give your little one suggestions such as, “Press H.” And, “Can you find all the orange buttons?”
Develop & grow
Silly sounds, music and 6 sing-along songs introduce letters of the alphabet from A-Z, animals, first words and colors. Pressing the 28 app buttons helps strengthen baby’s eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills. And by pressing buttons to activate music, phrases, sounds and the light-up screen, baby is introduced to cause and effect.

Once the kids opened the gift box they were stung with curiosity. Numbers, colors, sounds, beeps, lit-up colors, lots to keep their focus and attention to it. The first night, the older boy could not put it down. He walked around with it like it was his personal device. Many weeks later and they are still singing with it or pushing buttons till they fall asleep.
Pros: The cost is too good to pass up on. Low cost, easy-to-use tech. Sights, colors, sounds. Good distraction from smart devices.
Update. ..if you are picking between similar fisher price products I would say that my kids love the laptop first...then it's a toss up between the tv remote and cell phone. This tablet doesn't get much action. If you are specifically looking to distract your 1 year old from your tablet...then probably get thid. Your 2 or 3 year old has probably already figured out its not the real thing.
