Please Note:
1. For flatscreen HDTVs, please check the TV's manual to make sure the TV has a built-in tuner for receiving over-the-air broadcast, and make sure this tuner can receive HD signals or else it will not be able to receive and watch HD channels.
2.Retune your TV and/or digital box from time to time to ensure you are receiving all available services. Retuning takes only a few minutes using the remote control.
3.Signal quality determines the picture quality and how many channels you can receive. Once you receive the antenna, hook it up to your TV, and try moving it around your home to find the placement with the best signal. You might be surprised how many HD channels you can receive!
4.Antenna signal strength can vary depending on distance from the tower, terrain, and weather. Reposition the antenna in a different location if needed. It is best for the antenna to be in line of sight with the TV tower(s) and avoid obstructions. Always re-scan for channels after moving the antenna.
5.This is an amplified antenna. If a signal cannot be received when using the external amplifier, remove the amplifier and try again. In some instances the amplifier may cause self-oscillation, which may interfere with signal reception.
6. If your TV has no built-in tuner, you can add an ATSC digital converter box to receive the HD signal. Search B07CF738QM or B01N5MLC1M on Amazon for the 1byone Converter Box.

I finally got this 1Byone 13" amplified antenna after a shipping mistake and couldn't wait to try it out. I was currently using a Radio Shack amplified antenna but had a lot of problems with getting a clear picture most of the time. I live about 25 miles from Chicago and our Chicago CBS station is one of the last 3 to upgrade in the country so reception was non existent for my home.
I followed the instructions, which are clear to follow and had this 1Byone installed in no time. I put it in a corner window pointing to Chicago and ran the channel search, what a SURPRISE - 52 channels, even CBS as clear as could be!
With the old antenna I was able to get only about 38 channels so what more can I say other than I am impressed with the 1Byone amplified antenna!
Now for the bad: when I first did the search and everything was great, I had the antenna just leaning on the window supported by the double hung bar. After being so excited about all the channels and how clear they where I affixed the 1Byone antenna to the window with the double sided tape pads they include (3) within inches of the scan. Bad part starts now - after sticking it to the window my reception is not that great anymore. Most problems are with the UHF stations that should be the strongest signals, which are all except CBS which still always comes in clear - go figure. I have tried to get the antenna off the window every possible way without breaking it but the tape won't budge.
So best advice I can give is YES this antenna works GREAT, just be careful before you make it a permanent placement.
UPDATE: So after owning this antenna for about 9 months it has given out. I now can no longer get all the channels I could in the beginning and those I can still get, about 12, are always breaking up and impossible to watch. The amplifier still shows a red light on, which means it is suppose to be working but doesn't seem to be any longer.
Now comes the GREAT part! I contacted 1byone to let them know that the antenna was no longer working. They say this has a 1 year warranty so I wanted to see if they would stand behind it. They had me try 2 different methods to see if it would work but it didn't help. After no luck getting it working 1byone has sent me a brand new antenna no charge to replace the defective one! I noticed that it is now somewhat different at the amplifier so maybe this will make a difference. In any case, 1ByOne stands by their products and I would recommend them to anyone I know.
The fact that my next door neighbors had severed ties with the Cable Crime Syndicate a while back and were getting HDTV from a couple of small, flat devices they had purchased had convinced me to follow their lead. I'd sacrifice the (very) few programs I watched on basic cable and augment the already ample network selection with Nerflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and YouTube beamed from my laptop or phone to my monitors and be just fine. A couple hours of research lead me to 1byone.
I ordered 2 1byone 50-mile range indoor amplified antennas, which arrived in tact and in time. Here's the basics:
Amplified has to be better, right? Especially when you're turning your television reception over to a very low tech looking piece of single-wire, no AC no battery pack hardware that looks like a very thin mousepad, having a device attached that plugs-into a wall socket and reassures with a little red light at least gives one the impression this minimalist yawn fest of placemat might work. And it did. But not as well as with the amplifier disconnected.
Turns out an amplifier, even one as small and simple as that which comes with this product, can limit the number of stations you can grab and create interference if you live (as we do) fairly close to your area's broadcast towers. If you live in a more rural location the amp would likely help, but even then try setting it up and scanning with and without it because in this instance less really can be more.
Prepare to spend time on setup, too. The upstairs TV was perfectly placed for this sort of thing based on my research. Against an exterior wall, within a few feet of a window with a direct view of the mountain that is home to two of the three major broadcast towers in the area. I used a suction cup hook to temporally mount the 1byone directly to that window (be sure all your trial placements are temporary by the way, in other words ignore the included double-sided tape until you hit the bullseye. Odds are against your hitting the sweet spot right away). The results were promising. 22 stations came in including the biggies like CBS, PBS and FOX, but no ABC or NBC. While downstairs (in addition to all the funky little channels) with much less ideal placement (TV against an interior wall, window too far to reach, on the ground level) I managed to pull in even more channels. But this time, unless I held the antenna in my hand as high as I could reach while standing just to the left of the TV, no CBS.
Patience has never been my strong suit. I can only go at things like this for a few hours at a time until frustration sends me muttering toward the beer fridge. I'd say it took two dedicated days of trial and error to get the most and best out of this technology. And like real estate, the three most important things you need with any indoor antenna are location, location and location. And since you need to re-scan a channel search on your TV at each different placement, this process isn't as simple as walking around the room until your assistant shouts "THERE! Don't move!"
The placements that "should" be the best often aren't. Hiding the thing behind wall art or the TV itself would be great for minimal to no impact on your decor, and if you're really, really lucky such unobtrusive placement may be the best placement for the unit's performance. But don't count on it.
There are so many variables at play--from the construction materials used in your building to your distance from and directional orientation with the towers--it's impossible to offer one-size-fits-all advice.
My best placement? For both upstairs and first floor locations? One piece of advice I came across said higher is better. In my case that proved true. So mine are now flat against the ceilings. The 1byone's thin edge wedged between the cove molding and the ceiling, the wire dropping lazily down the wall to the rear of the monitors. It looks goofy, but all channels available come in and *they* look great. Want beauty? Frame your last cable bill and hang it under the antenna.
There are a few good sites/blogs on this topic and I suggest checking out as much as you can. Just remember the Big 5:
[1] Amplifiers are good except when they're not
[2] Location
[3] Location
[4] Location matters most
[5] When in doubt, go higher
[5-b] optional* Never talk about Fight Club
As for the specific product you clicked here to read about: the 1byone digital indoor antenna 50-mile range is simple and mostly well made. The directions are clear and the packaging solid. But I couldn't give all 5 Stars because the thin cable (with slightly flimsy coax connector) provided is hardwired to the reception paddle. I'd prefer a detachable cable (as I've seen in other brands) that would allow the use of a higher quaility coaxial cable. Better shielding, the ability to purchase the ideal length (shorter is better but sometimes longer is necessary), and available in your choice of black or white to lessen impact on the room.
But whatever they've got going on inside that mysterious plank of very thin, high-quality plastic that does the real work has to be good because my television shows have never looked so good.
Next stop, the outdoor variety. But this model works so well I'm in no hurry.

UPDATE: I added a splitter so that I could use the antenna on the TV in my bedroom which is next to the living room, and the signal is just as good as in the living room. Also, when scanning the channels in my bedroom, found out I can get 22 channels now. So like someone else mentioned, you should scan the channels regularly as you may end up with more channels!
After using the antenna for a while, I've adjusted the review, in comparison to my original Monoprice antenna (which I've gone back to using). I lost 4 channels with the 1byone antenna compared to what I was getting previously, and a few of the remaining channels had artifacts that weren't there before. I tried moving the antenna a few times, turning it around, checking the cables for any interference sources, and nothing helped. I definitely don't recommend this antenna to anyone.
Original review before I'd fully tested it:
It works ok. I have a Monoprice 104730 antenna I was using, figured I'd give this one a try to see if I could get the one last channel on my area/direction that comes and goes. Didn't get any better quality on that one channel, though. Other channels are same quality as the Monoprice antenna. However, I lost one of my channels with this 1byone antenna, which was unexpected, with the claimed 50 mile range (signal comes from much closer than that). On 15th floor with a clear line of sight to the source, so no issue there. May try re-positioning cables, just to see if interference could be the issue, but not expecting to see any difference.
It works (mostly), but wouldn't buy again or recommend to others.
